The Sveva Versal font was introduced 20 years ago and has since gained considerable popularity, especially in the youth and fantasy genres. More than 100 book titles now use the Sveva font on their covers, and the number is growing with the many translations.

Some authors have published a particularly large number of books with Sveva covers, such as Emma Carroll and Holly Black. With their successful books, they have undoubtedly contributed to the continued popularity of Sveva font. Slim Palmer was probably one of the first authors to use Sveva for his books «Albert the Third» (2006) and «Kryptos» (2007).

The design of Sveva Versal is based on an art nouveau typeface produced by the German type foundry Bauer & Co. in Stuttgart, Germany around 1900. Andreas Seidel added many new swashes and letter combinations and brought the typeface back to life in 2003. In 2022, 6 new weights were added to form a family.
